When I was eight years old I remember mum and dad saying that we were going on a holiday. Having a job as a delivery boy I thought I’ll save my money and spend it on the holiday. The day had come, bags are packed and loaded in the car, off we go. Being the youngest of three boys I had to sit in the middle as my older brothers bags’d sitting behind the driver and sitting behind the passenger. I think they really liked having the window seats.

Down to the beach for a holiday, I remember that we were staying at a bed and breakfast which was just across the road from the beach. Because we arrived in the afternoon we all went for a walk along the beach. The sand was white and very soft under foot, we were in Wales. We saw a lot of rock pools and at the end of the beach was a little cave just the right size for an eight year old boy. The cave didn’t go in very far but I noticed on a little ledge in the cave was a little monkey.

Our daughter Miss K spent 2 years at Family Day Care. One year with her brother and one year by herself. On starting Day Care Miss K had loads of energy and often took advantage of her brothers kind nature.

We often have a laugh about a reply our son gave to his carer while being in Family Day Care. Master B and Miss K went to Family Day Care and had a beautiful relationship with the carer and her partner, so much so that they were asked to call them Nanny and Poppy.

A trip to the local nursery turned out to be quite interesting. Our children were with us and asked if they could each have a punnet of vegetables. We agreed and on returning home the children put on their gum boots and we headed to the vegie patch. They dug and weeded the garden beds and read the information tag on the punnets, with our assistance and care they each planted their vegetables.
