The Reflux Infants Support Association (RISA) Inc is an Australian community group that aims to encourage and give confidence and moral support to families of infants and children who have problems associated with Gastro-Oesophageal Reflux (GOR/reflux). It is run by reflux families, for reflux families, on a volunteer basis. Just being able to talk to
someone else who understands what they're feeling and experiencing, is often a huge relief, and can help parents feel more in control of the whole situation, and more able to cope.
RISA Inc follows the guidance of our Medical Advisory Panel so their information is as accurate and up-to-date as possible. They advise parents to seek a medical opinion, then help the family cope with the day-to day pressures of living with a persistent refluxer. They offer a wide variety of support services to these families, such as telephone and email support, information, newsletters, membership packages, online parent support groups, online chats, Coffee Mornings and informal get-togethers, and more.

NAPCAN
NAPCAN seeks to resource and network child welfare professionals and practitioners working to prevent child abuse and neglect from happening before it starts, through the provision of parenting brochures, training, support networks and information.
Led by the passion and commitment of its founders - Rosemary Sinclair AO and Christine Stewart - NAPCAN was founded in 1987 to establish lines of communication between government departments and agencies, professionals and community groups working in child protection.
This national community network was used as a channel to share educational material and to filter key issues onto a national agenda: to promote a national focus on the prevention of abuse and neglect of children; and to establish community advocacy for the prevention of child abuse and neglect, and to provide information about nurturing and protective parenting. Visit NAPCAN
Child Friendly Australia
Child Friendly Australia is the exciting new social change initiative of the National Association for Prevention of Child Abuse and Neglect (NAPCAN).
Through Child Friendly Australia NAPCAN works to inspire every Australian to make a positive difference to children's lives, and help build an Australia where every community that involves children in any way is child friendly. NAPCAN believes that by inspiring every Australian to take responsibility for children's wellbeing, then child abuse and neglect in this country will be prevented before it starts.
This includes programs and tools to assist with the formation, development and sustenance of Child Friendly Community Action Networks, to support parents themselves, and to encourage the general public to 'take the child friendly challenge' and make a positive dfference to children's and young people's lives.
Children See, Children Do is NAPCAN's first campaign promoted through Child Friendly Australia. Launched during National Child Protection Week '06, this challenging and inspirational television commercial raises adults' awareness as to how impressionable children and young people really are, and challenges them to role model only positive behaviour.
