A 92-year-old, petite, well-poised and proud man, who is fully dressed each morning by eight o'clock, with his hair fashionably coifed and shaved perfectly, even though he is legally blind, moved to a nursing home today. His wife of 70 years recently passed away, making the move necessary.

Stone with a Reddish Tone

Living in a country town I remember walking to and from Primary school.  The school was on the other side of town and approximately 1 ½ Klms from home.  I was seven years of age and a stone on the ground caught my eye.  The stone had a reddish  tone and was the shape of a kidney.  I kicked the stone practically all the way to school.  This was possible as one way to get to the school was nearly all lane ways with no or little traffic.

An Unexpected Experience

This year the whole family decided to take part in the Cancer Councils Relay for Life, along with a few friends to make up the team we set about walking around the oval. Every hour we changed direction and a new member would walk. We’d pitched tents and brought sleeping bags. One of the team members said I’ve brought along some dip and biscuits and also a cooked chook in case we get hungry.

The Joy Of Easter Egg Shopping

 

I decided this year that I would buy the Easter eggs. With six children there was a lot to buy, so off we set. I say we because I took our two year old along with me. On approaching the store I thought we’d better get a trolley. In we go “Oh no” I thought this is harder than it looks, three isles of Easter eggs.
